fat loss personal training

1-TO-1 FAT LOSS PERSONAL TRAINING IN LONDON, BUILT AROUND YOUR BODY, LIFESTYLE AND GOALS.

Most people know that losing weight means changing how they eat and becoming more active. The difficult part is finding an approach that works for you and that you can actually maintain. Maybe you've lost weight before and put it back on, tried diets that only worked for a few weeks, or simply aren't sure what you need to change. We'll start with where you are now, looking at your training, eating habits, daily activity and lifestyle.

The aim isn't simply to make the number on the scales go down. It's to help you lose body fat while maintaining, and where appropriate building, muscle, so you become leaner, stronger and feel better in your body.

WHY FAT LOSS CAN BE DIFFICULT

After more than 15 years of personal training, one thing I've learned is that the best approach is rarely the most extreme one. Restrictive diets can work for a while, but they're difficult to live with. The same goes for suddenly training every day or doing hours of cardio because you think you have to.

Often, getting the basics right makes the biggest difference: better food choices, sensible portions, enough protein, more daily movement and well-structured training. We'll also consider sleep, stress and recovery, because what happens outside the gym can have a real impact on your progress.

HOW WE'LL TRAIN

Strength and resistance training are a big part of my approach to fat loss. Your training will be built around your ability and experience, using free weights, resistance machines, cables and bodyweight exercises where appropriate. We'll work on your technique, help you get stronger and make sure the time you spend in the gym has a purpose.

Cardio can be useful too, but you don't need to spend hours on a treadmill. Walking, cycling, running or other activities can all play a part depending on what works for you. If you're completely new to training, we'll take things at the right pace. You won't be expected to walk into the gym already knowing what to do.

MORE THAN JUST YOUR WEIGHT

The scales can be useful, but they don't tell us everything. As you lose body fat while maintaining or building muscle, your body composition changes. You may notice a smaller waist, clothes fitting differently and more shape and definition even when your weight isn't changing as quickly as expected.

That's why we'll look at the overall picture, using things like measurements, progress photos, strength and how your clothes fit alongside body weight. How your body is changing matters more than chasing one particular number on the scales.

NUTRITION THAT FITS YOUR LIFE

You don't need to cut out carbohydrates, stop eating after a certain time or live on salads. I'll help you understand what actually matters, including calorie intake, protein, portion sizes and food choices, without making eating unnecessarily complicated.

You can still go to restaurants, travel and have a social life. If there's food you enjoy, I'd rather find a sensible way to include it than give you a list of things you're never allowed to eat. Vegetarian and vegan diets are absolutely fine too, and we'll adapt your nutrition around you.

MAKING IT WORK IN REAL LIFE

Work gets busy. People travel. Holidays happen. Sometimes you'll miss a workout. That's normal. We'll find a level of training and nutrition that works around your work, lifestyle and social life.

When progress slows, we'll look at why rather than automatically assuming you need to eat less or exercise more. Some weeks will be better than others. What matters is that you're moving in the right direction over time. Getting in shape shouldn't feel like a full-time job.
